1. WHEREAS, the Student Government Association sponsors events to create a sense of community among the 26,000 undergraduate students at the University of Maryland; and,

2. WHEREAS, the Student Government Association promotes environmental stewardship and has set a precedent of creating "zero waste" events; and,

3. WHEREAS, DOMEFEST is a music festival sponsored by several University of Maryland student groups; and,

4. WHEREAS, the sponsors of DOMEFEST request that the Student Government Association cosponsor DOMEFEST and allocate funds to help make the event "zero waste";

5. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that a total of $228 be taken from Legislative Reserves to purchase reusable plastic cups to be distributed at DOMEFEST which will take place on May 1, 2010; and,

6. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Student Government Association cosponsors DOMEFEST and the Student Government Association logo will appear on any and all marketing materials for DOMEFEST including the reusable plastic cups; and,

7. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that any unused funds be returned to Legislative Reserves at the end of the academic year.
