1. WHEREAS, the Student Government Association exists to form a more perfect representation of student voices and views; and,

2. WHEREAS, the Student Government Association shall formulate policies promoting and governing the activities and welfare of students; and,

3. WHEREAS, the legislative powers of the Student Government Association are vested in a Legislature comprised of residential and academic representatives; and,

4. WHEREAS, the Student Government Association Legislature meets weekly at 6:00pm in the Benjamin Banneker Room in the Stamp Student Union; and,

5. WHEREAS, the Student Government Association Legislature meets weekly in order to be represent and address issues that are of concern to the student body; and,

6. WHEREAS, the Student Government Association incurs costs in order to fully carry out its mission; and,

7. WHEREAS, the Stamp Student Union provides the Benjamin Banneker room with a special set up free of charge; and,

8. WHEREAS, this special agreement provides that the Student Government Association will be responsible for all Audio-Visual costs incurred; and,

9. WHEREAS, the Student Government Association Legislature regularly uses a projector to view documents and microphones to stream the session over the internet; and,

10. WHEREAS, the cost of these items is $55.00 per meeting ($30 for Projector, and $25 for microphones); and,

11. WHEREAS, there are eleven (11) Legislative meetings in spring semester for which the Legislature has been charged costs; and,

12. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that $605.00 be allocated from Legislative Reserves to cover these general operating and audio-visual expenses of the meetings.
